I have not agreed with much of anything Trump has done so far as President but this one thing he got right, on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, President Trump fired the warhawk himself, John Bolton.
Bolton was appointed National Security Adviser back in 2017 but like most of Trumps hires he was fired after just 2 years. Actually, nobody knows if Bolton was fired or if just resigned. Either way, it needed to happen.
There is speculation that Bolton leaked information about internal affairs. The Trump administration has a no snitching policy and has had one from the beginning. Trump has always been weary of insiders spilling the goods on him.
Senator Lindsey Graham chimed in on the release of John Bolton:
“I like John Bolton. I thought he did a good job, I shared his worldview, however, I think the trust was lost—there’s a view that the leaking allegation is pretty sensitive to the president.”
It was a few months ago when every week there was a new story about Iran. There seemed that an eventual war with Iran was evident. Bolton has been beating the war drum for years openly calling for war with Iran as if it was just something to do. When Trump hired Bolton as National Security Adviser back in 2017, it worried a lot of people who feared it would turn into Iraqi freedom part 2.
Rumor has it, Trump and Bolton were not seeing eye to eye when it came to Iran. Trump openly stated he did not want to start a war with Iran and I'm sure Bolton had to have been greatly disappointed.
Of course, we know Bolton was only looking to profit from another war much like Bush and Chaney did 2002.
According to the Daily Beast, John Bolton was not happy about Trump inviting leaders of the Taliban to Camp David for a formal meeting. The invitation to the Taliban may just have been the final straw.
Finally, my last entry may be a big problem for Trump. According to multiple sources, John Bolton is preparing to write a book about his time as a NSA and it may be released in the final weeks of the 2020 election.
